Seminar “The Historian in the Digital Age: Research Challenges, Tools, Practices”

​A seminar on “The Historian in the Digital Age: Research Challenges, Tools, Practices” was held on 12 April 2019. The event focused on the problems of using digital tools and methods in historical and archaeological research today. The participants also discussed how modern information technology could help scholars present their work and explore multidisciplinary approaches.

Yevhen Rachkov spoke at the seminar about the theoretical and practical problems of using database technologies in the study of urban space and presented the project “Practices of the Self-Representation of Multinational Cities in the Industrial and Post-Industrial Era.” Also in attendance were Roman Liubavsky and Yevhen Zakharchenko. Taras Nazaruk, a fellow of the Center for Urban History of East Central Europe and leader of the project “Interactive Lviv,” was the invited speaker.
